BEIJING, March 21 (Xinhua) -- The Dagang 500 kV substation project has successfully completed the installation of all main equipment in north China's Tianjin Municipality, marking a new step in Tianjin's world-class city power grid construction.
Upon full operation, the substation project will not only provide reliable power for many national key projects within the region, but also effectively support the offshore wind power of Nangang Industrial Zone to be incorporated into Tianjin's 500 kV power grid, serving clean energy to be connected to the grid for transmission and use.
The substation is also expected to play an important role in improving the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan grid structure, strengthening the Beijing-Tianjin and Northern Hebei grid receiving end, and serving the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
The project is invested and constructed by State Grid Tianjin Electric Power Co., Ltd.
The company will continue to focus on the follow-up debugging and power delivery of the project, strictly control the safety, quality and schedule to ensure that the project will be put into production on time, said Li Yubo, a director of State Grid Tianjin Electric Power Construction Department.
