February 10, 2023

Abstract : A total of 488 cross-border highway shuttle buses were launched for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in the first month of 2023, surging 838 percent year on year, which improved the transportation efficiency of the corridor, according to Banan District, Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.

BEIJING, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- A total of 488 cross-border highway shuttle buses were launched for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in the first month of 2023, surging 838 percent year on year, which improved the transportation efficiency of the corridor, according to Banan District, Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, Chinanews.com reported Thursday.

In January, the total cargo weight carried by the shuttle buses reached about 9,795 tonnes, with a year-on-year increase of 986 percent and a total value reaching 174.29 million yuan, up 384 percent year on year.

Based on the location advantage of Nanpeng Highway Bonded Logistics Center (Type B) located in Banan District of Chongqing, the cross-border highway shuttle buses have become an important carrier for the construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.

Since the official operation in April 2016, the shuttle buses have made 12,161 trips with a total value of 7.306 billion yuan by January 31 this year.

In the next step, the cross-border highway shuttle buses are expected to provide import and export enterprises with better and more convenient one-stop services, expand more cross-border road transportation routes, and actively promote the development of inland international logistics hubs and ports to a new level.
