BEIJING, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- Great Wall Motor (GWM), China's leading sport utility vehicle (SUV) and pickup manufacturer, sold a total of 1,067,523 vehicles in 2022, exceeding 1 million units for seven consecutive years, statistics showed.
With an accelerating globalization strategy, GWM's total sales volume in the overseas market reached 170,000 in 2022, up 21.28 percent year on year. The cumulative overseas sales of the company reached 1 million units in July, 2022, and monthly overseas sales exceeded 20,000 units from October in the same year.
Sales in Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the Middle East and other key regional markets increased significantly as well.
The company has also advanced intelligent level of the cars, with the market penetration rate of intelligent models reaching 86.17 percent in 2022. GWM launched six new car models equipped with Coffee Intelligence, its intelligent driving assistance system, with sales exceeding 200,000 units in the same year.
The company said that it is expected to roll out more than 10 new energy vehicles in 2023.
