MILAN, Dec 14 (Class Editori) — After two televised editions due to pandemic restrictions, the China Awards are back in attendance. The event has been organised annually since 2005 by the Italy China Council Foundation and Class Editori to underline the importance of internationalisation for Italian and Chinese companies and, following the same logic, to reward the companies of both countries that have been able to seize the opportunities of their respective markets and distinguish themselves in bilateral relations.
The 2022 edition —the 17th— will be held today, December 14, at the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci in Milan, from 6 p.m., thanks to the sponsorship and support of Genertec Italia Srl, Intesa Sanpaolo SpA, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels, Cattolica Assicurazioni, Gruppo Bracco, Giada SpA, Curiel SpA, Savino Del Bene, P&D Consulting, EU SME Centre, and for the technical component Otto Otto Baijiu, Rhea Vendors Group SpA, Il Botolo Azienda Agricola and Musicopoli.
The awards ceremony of the 17th edition of the China Awards will be opened by greetings from the President of the Italy China Council Foundation, Mario Boselli, and the Editor in Chief and CEO of Class Editori, Paolo Panerai. A total of 24 representatives of the Sino-Italian entrepreneurial world will be awarded, divided into the six usual categories. In particular, five companies will be bestowed with the title of Italian Excellence, while four will be awarded with the Creators of Value Award. Three among the top investors in Italy and the top investors in China will be chosen, as well as the companies that have distinguished themselves on the Silk Road. In addition, there will be other six special Capital Elite Awards.
Finally, four Golden Lions will be awarded to personalities from the worlds of culture, sports and entertainment who have distinguished themselves between Italy and China. The personalities chosen this year range from Fabio Cannavaro, multiple football champion and coach, to Angelo Cruciani, stylist and former model, as well as Zhu Thing, volleyball player of the Scandicci Savino del Bene team in the A1 series, and Zhou Guanyu, the first Chinese F1 driver and currently racing for Alfa Romeo.
In addition, this year’s dinner charity is organised in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Milan and aims to fund scholarships for students from the university involved in activities that can act as a bridge between Italy and China.
