BEIJING, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) - Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province, has ramped up efforts to promote enterprises from Hangzhou and across the country to expand business opportunities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to the 13th China-UAE Trade Expo kicked off Monday in Dubai.
Organized by Hangzhou Municipal Government, the expo, scheduled from December 19-21, attracted a total of 1,057 enterprises from China to set up a total of 1,472 booths in the pavilion covering a total area of over 30,000 square meters.
At the end of the fourth quarter of the year, Chinese foreign trade enterprises seized the opportunity of Hangzhou's overseas exhibition and organized business delegations to participate in the expo to explore new opportunities for cooperation.
It is noted that a total of 10 theme pavilions including auto and motorcycle parts, food, machinery, and home appliances were set up at the expo. At the same time, some exhibitors who could not come to the site also negotiated potential business with overseas enterprises through the online exhibition platform.
The Hangzhou municipal government has been committed to assisting domestic enterprise to meet previous customer needs and further explore overseas markets by holding overseas expos since 2012. So far, Hangzhou has held fairs in 10 countries and regions, including Poland, Turkey, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), all of which have been certified by the Union of International Fairs (UIF).
