BEIJING, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- East China's Qingyun County in Shandong province has actively promoted reading as lifestyle among public through holding events, so as to build Qingyun into a county of book lovers.
Activities that can improve primary-level reading facilities and expand public reading spaces such as libraries, city study rooms, village library, community bookstores and digital bookstores, and those that employ new technologies to explore multimedia and multi-platform reading were included.
In recent years, Qingyun County has gradually formed a three-level system of main library, branch library and grassroots service point. From urban to rural areas, from institutions to enterprises, reading platform facilities are around every corner of the county.
On the basis of hardware upgrading, an integrated public reading system in urban and rural areas which achieves full coverage of the county are gradually taking shape in Qingyun.
Besides, Qingyun also strives to create a cultural landmark reading space, a new reading scene, which not only provides residents with a new reading experience, but also adds new cultural sceneries to the city.
In order to stimulate the enthusiasm of the public for reading, the county carried out advanced model selection activities, and a batch of reading promoters have emerged.
