CAIRO, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Jetour Auto, a Chinese automobile brand, unveiled its new lite off-road SUV model, the T1, at a launch event near Egypt's iconic Giza Pyramids on Tuesday evening, as part of the company's international expansion strategy.
Held under the theme "Time to Awaken," the event drew around 1,000 attendees, including auto dealers, industry experts and media representatives.
"During our global development, Jetour has received many travel stories from users worldwide. We are committed to developing world-class products with world-class technology to serve our customers," said Dai Lihong, president of Jetour Auto.
Jetour has emerged as one of the fastest-growing brands in the auto sector in recent years. The company has recorded global cumulative sales exceeding 1.7 million units since its launch six years ago. In 2024 alone, annual sales surpassed 560,000 units, representing a year-on-year increase of more than 80 percent, according to Dai.
As part of the launch, Jetour signed an agreement with Egypt's KASRAWY Group to supply knock-down kits (KD) for its T1 and T2 models. These kits will be assembled at local factories in Egypt, with the goal of increasing local production and creating more jobs.
