MILAN, Nov 29 (Class Editori) — Transparency International Italia and the Italy China Council Foundation (ICCF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on the implementation of initiatives to spread the culture of legality and transparency to Italian Chinese companies and associations.
The agreement provides for the development and sharing of projects and initiatives on various topics, including the promotion of protected and safe channels of whistleblowing among companies in the Business Integrity Forum (BIF) and ethical promotion in business, as well as actions to support the culture of legality and integrity for the companies of the two countries in Italy and the People's Republic of China, promoting the transparency of beneficial owners.
“The fight against corruption is the most important among the reforms that arise from within institutions, and this applies to both Italy and the People’s Republic of China,” Iole Anna Savini, President of Transparency International Italia, said. “From this unprecedented collaboration with the Italy China Council Foundation comes an important moral, cultural, and economic challenge. The companies of the two countries will have us by their side, in support of the correctness of their action, with conviction and without prejudice. This has always been our commitment, successfully launched in Italy and abroad”.
“The themes of legality, business ethics, and transparency in the corporate sphere are issues that touch us closely and on which we believe there is a need for continuous confrontation, in Italy as in China,” Mario Boselli, President of the ICCF, stated. “For this reason, we decided to sign this protocol, and, through it, we will take action to spread to our hundreds of associates and partners, both Italian and Chinese, a culture that can no longer be done without. This is a commitment adding to those that we carry out daily and which, we are certain, will help to increase the attractiveness of our country for Chinese companies and groups that choose to invest in Italy, as has been the case for many years now”.
