MILAN, Nov 29 (Class Editori) — Italian Design Icons (IDI) successfully archived its seventh edition in Shanghai, registering over 1,000 visitors at the Powerlong art center gallery. The three-day exhibition dedicated to Made-in-Italy design, conceived by DP Group and organized by Eastant Communication & Events, unveiled the high-tech products of 16 major internationally established Italian companies from different industries, from automotive to fashion, from robotics to architecture.
It also attracted a parterre of 50 guests during seminars and workshops dedicated to the future of the industries. The Most Influential Speaker Award was given to Italian designer and architect Aldo Cibic, while The Most Trending Brand Award went to UFI Filters-SOFIMA, for which APAC COO Simone Trazzi commented, “We are proud of this recognition that rewards our company's work in the design and production of innovative filtration and thermal management products dedicated to new electric vehicles”.
The projects highlighted the brands’ commitment to environmental sustainability, but also technological innovation and increasingly intelligent types of design. The event, with the theme “Re-generation: design and new technologies for a better and sustainable future,” took up, as it does every year, the focus established by the Italian Design Day, an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation with the contribution of the Ministry of Culture’s General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity.
The intended goal was to create an exceptional showcase for Made-in-Italy companies present in China for the worldwide audience. Among the protagonists, Pirelli celebrated its 150th anniversary and Ducati the MotoGP victory. Tecnica Group presented skis and hiking shoes, Comau the new generation of Racer3 robots. “Thanks to the collaboration with our innovation network, we can provide cutting-edge technologies to our customers in China, the automotive industry, and other sectors,” Gaetano Cantalupo, Comau’s Head of Countries Cluster APAC, commented.
IDI, supported by media partners such as Class Editori, local and foreign universities, and F&B partners, received support from the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai, Italian Trade Agency, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce and the Italy China Council Foundation. Sponsors include McQueen, Illy, Istituto Marangoni, Pinko, and Safilo.
