BEIJING, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- A school reconstructed by Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina) in Peru's La Libertad region was put into service recently, reported people.com on Wednesday.
The new school is the last one of the four schools rebuilt by PowerChina for Peru's La Libertad school reconstruction project No.2 package, which aims to renovate infrastructure of four schools in La Libertad affected by natural disasters in 2017.
PowerChina signed a deal with Peruvian reconstruction authority for the project in February of 2021 and was responsible for removing, designing, and constructing new school buildings, supplying and installing teaching facilities as well as campus landscaping.
The schools can accommodate over 3,000 students, meeting local people's demand for high-quality education and promoting development of local education, according to PowerChina.
In addition to completing school reconstruction, PowerChina also donated teaching aids, musical instruments and sports items to the new schools. (Edited by Su Dan with Xinhua Silk Road, sudan@xinhua.org)
