BEIJING, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) – Enterprises in east China's Fujian Province and Japanese companies have further deepened mutually beneficial cooperation and embraded new opportunites through the China (Xiamen) Cross-border E-commerce Expo 2022 kicked off on November 10 in the coastal city of Xiamen, Fujian Province, reported Chinanew.com Saturday.
Benefiting from the opportunity brought by the entry into force of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), the exhibition also set up a Japanese product pavilion covering a total area of about 1,300 square meters, displaying different types of Japanese produces including cameras, sake, electrical appliances, and skin care products.
At the same time, themed activities including "New Opportunities for Deepening China-Japan Cooperation under the RCEP Framework" were held to further promote bilateral economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
It is noted that the expo attracted delegations from several Japanese companies, including well-known Japanese companies such as Panasonic Group, JFE Steel Corporation, Toyota Tsusho Corporation, to explore more cooperation opportunities between China and Japan in areas such as energy conservation, environmental protection and cross-border e-commerce.
After the RCEP agreement took effect, Fujian province witnessed a 5.2 percent year-on-year growth in imports and exports with RCEP member countries and regions in the first three quarters of this year, and achieved a 65.5 percent year-on-year growth in attracting investment from RCEP member states, said Li Jiancheng, vice governor of Fujian Provincial People's Government.
Noting the bilateral cooperation on green development, Tetsuro Homma, Representative Director and Executive Vice President of Panasonic Group, said the company hopes to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with Fujian’s enterprises in the field of energy conservation and emission reduction.
