BEIJING, Oct. 9(Xinhua) -- Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker NIO launched three models in four European countries including Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden, the Xinhua-run China Securities Journal reported on Saturday.
According to the report, NIO allows European customers to subscribe to an electric car rather than buy it outright. The subscription can be as short as a month.
The move marks the company’s latest step to further expand its footprint in the Europe after it entered Norwegian market a year ago.
The three models launched in Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden are NIO's ET5, ET7 and EL7, respectively.
It is learned that NIO has provided access to more than 380,000 third-party chargers in Europe. The EV maker is scheduled to build about 20 battery swap stations by the end of 2022 in Europe and the number is expected to reach as much as 120 by the end of 2023.
