More than 4,000 companies plan to exhibit at the Hannover Messe industrial show, which will take place in the northern German city from April 17 to 21, 2023. According to the organizers, the main focus will be on the transformation of industry toward more climate-friendly processes. Topics include the digitalization of production, the use of hydrogen, and software solutions for reducing CO2 emissions. The exhibitors will include big companies such as Bosch, Microsoft, Nokia, and Siemens. Indonesia will be featured as the guest country next spring.
"Big corporations, SMEs, start-ups as well as science, politics, and society are called upon to work together," said Jochen Köckler, chairman of Deutsche Messe AG, the company that organizes the trade fair. "Only by working together can we succeed in sustainably securing industrial production and thus our prosperity and our future, while at the same time advancing climate protection."
This year's Hannover Messe was significantly smaller, with only around 2,500 exhibitors. Making its comeback at the Hannover trade fair grounds after a two-year break due to the coronavirus crisis, the industrial show also attracted fewer visitors than before the pandemic. Around 75,000 people attended the show in person, with another 15,000 taking part digitally. In the years before the pandemic, more than 200,000 visitors had come to the trade fair annually.
