Plans by German carmaker Volkswagen and German automotive supplier Bosch to cooperate on autonomous vehicles will not be opposed on competition grounds by Germany's Federal Cartel Office, according to a statement from the office released.
Bosch and VW's software subsidiary, Cariad, announced a far-reaching partnership in developing driverless cars in January.
Numerous other companies in the sector, along with global information technology companies were working on their own competing solutions, often in international cooperation, the Cartel Office noted.
It added that it would keep a close eye on how the collaboration between the two companies proceeded.
