BEIJING, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- China's tablet computer shipments increased 1.9 percent year on year to approximately 7.29 million units in the second quarter of the year, according to an industrial report.
During the period, the supply of tablet computers was sufficient to meet consumer demand as tablet manufacturing was little affected by COVID-19 response measures, according to the report released by the global market research firm International Data Corporation.
Total shipments in the consumer tablet market hit approximately 6.73 million units, up 13 percent year on year. The commercial tablet market shipped just 570,000 units, down 52 percent from a year earlier.
Global tablet shipments in the second quarter rose 0.3 percent year on year to reach 40.5 million units, reversing the decline registered over the last three quarters, the report said.
