BEIJING, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- A China-Europe freight train loaded with cargoes such as machinery equipments and daily necessities left the port of North China’s Tianjin Municipality on August 11, heading for Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, marking the 500th train dispatched from Tianjin port since this year, reported Chinanews.com on Thursday.
By now, Tianjin port has reached a record high of more than 50,000 TEUs of goods shipped by the China-Europe freight trains, surging over 79 percent year on year.
To facilitate the customs clearance efficiency of the rail-sea combined freight transport in the port, Tianjin Customs has put solid efforts to ensure that the time from unloading the ship to the railway container yard is shortened to within 3 hours, compared with 2-3 days in the past.
The railway departments, customs authorities and port operators in the Tianjin port area will continue to put joint efforts to guarantee the stable and quality operation of China-Europe freight trains, according to the Tianjin container center of the Beijing Railway Bureau.
