BEIJING, July 19 (Xinhua) -- An international rapids water rescue training base at Dajun Township in Lishui City of east China’s Zhejiang Province is now put on full service. A group of lifeguards who are responsible for the water security of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 have recently attended training at the base. And more water rescue trainning programmes are also available in the base to meet different needs of various groups at home and abroad.
It is introduced that the base was established in Dajun Township in Lishui city of east China’s Zhejiang Province in 2020, in order to develop water rescue training industry and boost the economic growth in the mountainous areas.
A water rescue science and education museum has also been built to serve as the cooperation base for International Rescue Instructors Alliance (IRIA), provincial fire control, public security department, Red Cross and other departments and institutions.
The introduction and development of water rescue industry has also brought opportunities to culture and tourism industry in the township, which paved the way for the common prosperity among the local communities.
Since 2020, more than 4,300 trainees have participated in a total of 112 rescue training sessions in Dajun Township, increasing local farmers’ income by more than 20 million yuan.
Fuye Village in Dajun Township have received the cumulative 1 million tourists since 2020, with annual tourism income of more than 15 million yuan and collective income of the village reaching 300,000 yuan for two consecutive years.
Creek with clean water as well as rapids with speedy waterflow in Dajun Township makes the place the most optimal training ground for water rescue training at home and abroad.
