BEIJING, July 14 (Xinhua) -- The newly-built business service area, storage and distribution area, container transport and storage area of the Xi'e railway logistics center in Liuzhou of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were officially put into operation Tuesday, marking the basic completion of the core area of the Liuzhou railway port, reported Guangxi Daily Wednesday.
It also marks that the road-rail combined transport system in Liuzhou, an important city along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, has taken shape, which will better serve the construction of the Belt and Road.
Covering an area of about 4,300 mu (about 286.7 hectares), the core area of the Liuzhou railway port is a key park in the overall planning of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in western China.
As a comprehensive railway logistics base, the port mainly focuses on business involving containers, refrigerated trucks, bulky cargo, etc. It also provides urban distribution and cold chain storage and transportation services.
After three years of construction, the Xi'e railway logistics center has built 200,000 square meters of business service area, storage and distribution area, and 300,000 square meters of container transportation and storage area, which will provide integrated services for logistics transport, including warehousing, distribution, transportation, etc.
