BEIJING, July 8 (Xinhua) -- The Guangzhou Port Group announced that it has handled over 800,000 commercial vehicles in the first half of 2022, up 3.9 percent year on year, reported Chinanews.com on Thursday.
The Guangzhou Port Group has launched seven additional foreign trade routes since last year to further enhance the logistics network in Europe, Southeast Asia and other regions, driving the company's export of commercial vehicles to exceed 100,000 in the first half of this year, rising 110.4 percent year on year.
In recent years, Guangzhou Port has been strengthening its ro-ro ship capacity. By developing a commercial vehicle gathering and distribution system that integrates roadways, railways and waterways, the port's ro-ro ship business volume has been stabilized at more than 1.5 million vehicles annually.
29,000 commercial vehicles were exported through Guangzhou Port via sea-trail transportation in the first half of this year, up 163.6 percent year on year, according to the statistics.
Relying on the continuously improving terminal capacity and logistics facilities, the Guangzhou Port Group will promote the development of automobile services including testing and certification, maintenance and modification, as well as financial services, in a bid to transform the port into a comprehensive international service hub for automobiles, according to the company.
