BEIJING, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Manzhouli port in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region handled 1,758 China-Europe freight trains from January to May, up 33.6 percent year on year, according to statistics from local customs authorities.
During the period, a total of 149,540 TEU of standard containers were delivered by such trains via the port, increasing 41.1 percent year on year, with the value of goods up 62.9 percent year on year to 21.09 billion yuan.
Manzhouli, also China's largest land port on the China-Russia border, has made efforts to enhance customs efficiency to facilitate foreign trade. Currently, there are 57 China-Europe freight train routes that pass through the Manzhouli port. (Edited by Su Dan with Xinhua Silk Road, sudan@xinhua.org)
