BEIJING, June 10 (Xinhua) -- State Grid Henan Electric Power Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of State Grid Corporation of China, took multi-pronged measures to ensure electricity supply for the college entrance examination, or "Gaokao", that was held on June 7 and 8.
In late May, the company hosted a special meeting on power supply for the examination, asking relevant departments and institutions to compile detailed electricity supply plan and task list for each of the exam sites and carry out hidden danger investigations on substations, transmission and distribution lines, and distribution station areas.
The company also actively communicated with education departments to locate exam sites, know about their demand for electricity in advance, and then completed troubleshooting, so that reliable power supply for listening test, online inspection system, video monitoring system and identification system were guaranteed.
At exam sites, the company took the initiative to prepare emergency responses. Emergency repair vehicles equipped with repairmen and tools were arranged near each exam sites. Emergency drills were performed in advance to improve response measures and speed to ensure power supply restoration in the shortest time in case of emergencies.
It is learned that State Grid Henan Electric Power Company deployed 1,147 emergency response teams, 5,403 repairmen, 192 emergency repair vehicles and 495 generators for the stable and reliable power supply of the important examination this year.
