BEIJING, May 31 (Xinhua) -- A China-Europe freight train departed from Guangzhou Nansha Port South Railway Station on Monday, marking the launch of a new rail cargo service since the operation of Guangzhou Nansha Port railway, reported Chinanews.com.
The train, carrying 50 TEUs of made-in-China commodities such as air conditioners, LCD screens, and etc., is expected to arrive in European inland through Alashankou Port in 15 days.
Located at the geographic and geometric center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Nansha Port is currently a large-scale world-class hub.
Compared with previous detour railway service in Dalang Railway Station, the cargo train from Nansha Port reduces customs transit and saves the shipping time as well as container storage cost, said a general manager of local logistics company.
In recent years, Nansha Port has seen continuously developed logistics network, as of now, Nansha Port has operated 175 container liner routes including 143 international ones, covering major ports at home and abroad.
