BEIJING, May 30 (Xinhua) -- A new China-Europe freight train left China's Shanghai Municipality on Sunday for Russia's Rostovskaya Oblast, marking the first freight train departed from Shanghai since the megacity resumed economic production as COVID-19 under control, said Shanghai Dongfang Silk Road Multimodal Transport Co., Ltd.
All the products loaded in the train -- 49 containers of machinery and equipment -- left Minhang Railway Station of Shanghai and rushed towards Russia.
The first "Shanghai Express", carrying 50 containers loaded with apparel, auto parts and solar panels, made its debut on September 28, 2021 heading to Germany's Hamburg.
Up to now, a total of 25 "Shanghai Express" freight trains have run on the route since the service has been launched, the company said.
