MILAN, May 19 (Class Editori) — China, India and Italy: according to an IBM study titled "AI for Business Adoption," which surveyed more than 8,000 decision makers in more than 20 key countries around the world, this is the podium of countries whose companies are furthest along in applying AI to accelerate environmental, social and economic sustainability initiatives.
The survey found that in Italy nearly one in two companies do so. Compared to the other European countries surveyed (UK, Germany, France and Spain), Italy is far ahead (10 to 20 percentage points) in its active commitment to using technology in order to ensure the achievement of ESG goals, also ranking third globally.
IBM's research was aimed at understanding not only where the adoption of AI stands, but also in what directions its implementation is moving — most importantly concerning accelerating sustainability and ethical use — and what are the main biases and obstacles to overcome.
As stated in a note, 42% of AI professionals in Italy state that the company they work for is actively employing AI within their business operations. According to the study, Italy is the top country in Europe among those surveyed (UK, Germany, France and Spain).
In addition, Italian companies are among the most active ones in implementing a holistic strategy for AI (28% of responses), a sign that they are moving beyond application for individual use cases to integrate exponential technologies into all business areas. (All rights reserved)
