BEIJING, March 24 (Xinhua) -- The comprehensive bonded zone in east China's Anhui Province recorded 18.12 billion yuan in imports and exports in the first two months of the year, an increase of 24.5 percent year on year, according to the latest customs data.
During the January-February period , Anhui's comprehensive bonded zone achieved an import value of 8.742 billion yuan, up 24.7 percent year on year, while exports stood at 9.38 billion yuan, an increase of 24.2 percent over the same period last year, according to the customs.
Since the beginning of this year, Hefei Customs, the provincial capital, has been committed to promoting the development of new business forms such as cross-border e-commerce in the zone, innovating the supervision mode of processing trade enterprises, and strengthening the integration of China-Europe freight trains and bonded warehousing business to facilitate the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) development.
Noting the innovative development of the comprehensive bonded zone, a local e-commerce operator revealed that after setting up a warehouse for cross-border e-commerce returns business, it further saves time and costs for e-commerce operations.
In order to further optimize the local business environment, Hefei Customs will further support the development of local enterprises and local characteristic industries in the comprehensive bonded zone, to inject vitality into the province's foreign trade and economic development.
