BEIJING, March 18 (Xinhua) --China's logistics merger and acqusation (M&A) market saw new records in both frequency and the deal size in 2021, according to an industrial report by global auditing and consulting firm PwC on Thursday.
According to the report, there were record-high 190 M&A deals in China's logistics industry in 2021 with a total size of 224.7 billion yuan (about 35.39 billion U.S. dollars). The number of deals increased 38 percent while the total deal size skyrockted 158 percent compared with that of 2020.
Intelligent informatization and comprehensive logistics are the most popular fields. The field of intelligent informatization contributed 75 deals involving 32.9 billion yuan in 2021. Among them, the subsector of intelligent facilities garnered the most attention, with the number of deals up 88 percent to 49 and the total volume up 34 percent to 10.7 billion yuan.
Besides, leading logistics enterprises accelerated construnction of integrative comprehensive logitistics system. Thus, a total of 47 deals involving 72.8 billion yuan were initiated in the subsector of comprehensive logistics. As cross-border trade flourished, cross-border comprehensive logistics firms were favored in 2021.
