BEIJING, March 17 (Xinhua) -- A batch of cross-border e-commerce products from southwest China's Yunnan Province were transported to Thailand on Monday by a freight train on the China-Laos Railway, reported Yunnan Daily.
This was the first time for Yunnan's cross-border e-commerce products to be exported by China-Laos Railway, marking the launch of the province's model of cross-border e-commerce plus railway transport business.
The cargo on board was valued at 651,100 U.S. dollars and mainly included daily necessities.
Customs staff gave special guidance to ensure smooth export. The cross-border e-commerce products were loaded and exported directly by the China-Laos Railway freight train after local supervision and inspection, which greatly reduced logistics costs, said an executive of Yunnan Xiangmei Supply Chain Co., Ltd., noting that the company was the first to benefit from Yunnan's model of cross-border e-commerce plus railway transport.
