BEIJING, March 16 (Xinhua) -- The total container throughput of Jintang port area, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port in east China's Zhejiang Province reached 10.13 million TEUs as of the end of February this year, marking a milestone in its development, according to the General Administration of Customs (GAC) of China.
Since its trial operation from July 2010, Jintang port area has opened more international cargo routes connecting the Belt and Road (B&R) countries and regions, with the number of international shipping routes of the port adding to 24.
In order to better cope with the busy shipping operation in the Jintang area, local customs actively assists the port in launching automated container loading and unloading services and simplifies the customs clearance process of cargo ships, ensuring efficient and cost-saving operation of the port.
In addition, Zhoushan Customs also provides convenience for export trade enterprises in shipping, and guides enterprises to adopt facilitation modes such as appointment-based customs clearance to further boost the trade facilitation of the port.
