BEIJING, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- A China-Europe freight train full of 100 TEUs of cargo departed from Changchun, capital of northeast China's Jilin Province, on Monday to Nuremberg of Germany, marking the first freight train between Changchun and Europe operated in 2022, reported Chinanews.com Tuesday.

The freight train carrying goods such as auto parts, mechanical equipment and electronic products will arrive in Germany in about ten days after passing through Manzhouli Port in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

By the end of 2021, the freight train on the Changchun-Manzhouli-Europe route had carried a total of 67,700 TEUs of goods worth 20 billion yuan since its opening in 2015. Among them, in 2021, the freight train transported a total of 9,712 TEUs of goods, involving a total value of 3.142 billion yuan, which is an important engine for the booming foreign trade of Jilin Province.

As a leading region in the development of industry and agriculture in China, Jilin Province has witnessed the significant contribution of the China-Europe freight train to the province's economic and trade cooperation in the past few years.

According to Changchun International Land Port Development Co., Ltd. (CCILP), the train operator, the operation of the China-Europe freight train is expected to continue to promote the development of the local automobile industry in 2022 and help local enterprises to participate in international capacity cooperation.
