Currently, the coverage of China-Europe freight trains is constantly expanding. Last year alone, the port witnessed 28 new freight lines added, said Li Hongfeng, an officer with Alataw Pass Customs.
In order to ensure smooth running of inbound and outbound freight train services, Alataw Pass Customs and railway department have strengthened cooperation and set up special windows for freight train customs clearance to realize 24-hour around the clock freight train services. Meanwhile, a cloud platform was launched for online customs clearance procedures.
In 2021, an average of 16 inbound and outbound freight trains passed through the port every day, making Alataw Pass an important role in ensuring smooth logistics and stable material supply chain in China, Europe and other countries along Belt and Road routes.
As of now, a total of 60 freight train routes run through Alataw Pass to Europe, mainly covering 24 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities such as Chongqing, Sichuan, Henan, Hubei and Zhejiang, and reaching 13 countries including Russia, Poland, Germany and Spain.
