BEIJING, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- Cross-border e-commerce goods passing through the port of south China's Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has exceeded 100 billion yuan so far this year, making it the first among the country's air ports achieving the target of 100 billion yuan for cross-border e-commerce transactions, according to the local customs on Thursday.

Specifically, the cross-border e-commerce goods exported to the Belt and Road countries amounted to more than 22 billion yuan, up 120 percent year on year.

Thanks to the excellent business environment, the air port has seen settlement of more than 1,000 cross-border e-commerce enterprises including COSCO (601919.SH), Baoneng, Xiangxue Pharmaceutical Company (300147.SZ) and Vipshop. At present, items that pass through the port under the cross-border e-commerce mode have covered more than 100,000 categories.

Xu Guang'an, deputy director of Guangzhou Customs, said that efforts will be made to continuously improve business process, release policy dividends, optimize foreign trade structure, and reduce burdens of enterprises.

As one of the three gateway complex hub airports in China, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is one of the important international aviation hubs of the Belt and Road and the "Silk Road in the Air". It is also the core airport of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with the air routes to about 230 airports.
