MILAN, Oct. 21 (Class Editori) -- Huawei relaunched its Seeds for the Future program by involving ELIS' professional training schools in order to establish relations with Italian SMEs and startups.
The global initiative aims to develop digital skills of the best ICT undergraduates with a 150-million-dollar investment over the next five years and is open to 50 students attending an Italian ICT university, as those teaching Telecommunication Engineering, IT and Electronics. The program, which will start on November 8 and will end on November 15, will take place on a dedicated online platform which selected students will be able to access after registration. Then by March 2022 12 reserved internships with SMEs or startups chosen by ELIS and focused on digital transformation projects will start for deserving students.
"We strongly believe that the partnership between academic and entrepreneurial worlds is increasingly important. As a well-established company in Italy, we have been committed in the development of local talents and in the digitalization of the country for a long time. We want to give students a high-level specialized training in real work contexts for a quick access to the labor market while supporting Italian SMEs in their digital transition process, which is paramount to seize all the opportunities linked to post-pandemic economic recovery," Wilson Wang, CEO of Huawei Italia, explained. "We are excited to partner up again with ELIS in our flagship CSR program Seeds for the Future since we have always shared the primary goal of training professionals who can drive the country's digital transformation by helping to close the gap in digital skills".
The online platform made available by Huawei offers a wide range of multi-level courses concerning all the latest technologies, but also applications and use cases, as well as modules aimed at developing the soft skills required by professionals of digital transformation, interactive classes and virtual visits to Huawei centers of excellence and places in ancient and modern China. In addition, this year special attention is given to digital transition, with an in-depth workshop, and to sustainability, with Tech4Good project work, through which students will better understand the role played by technology in solving complex global problems, improve problem-solving and leadership skills through teamwork, and strengthen their sense of mission and social responsibility.
"Today, technological innovation and knowledge globalization are changing market rules by increasingly requiring tailor-made professionalism," Pietro Cum, CEO of ELIS, pointed out. "In this framework, the relation between educational institutions and companies becomes crucial, both in the creation of training courses in line with the jobs of the future and in the possibility of ensuring real experience to young people entering the world of work. The new collaboration with Huawei enhances a cardinal principle of ELIS' approach: training people in a working position to transmit knowledge rather than notions".
