MILAN, Sept. 23 (Class Editori) -- Boeing raised its 20-year forecasts concerning the market of Chinese airlines and expects that China's airlines will require 8,700 new airplanes by 2040, valued at 1.47 trillion dollars in order to meet expanding commercial air travel demand.
Data prove the resilience of the market during the pandemic, which led the US manufacturer to forecast in its yearly outlook an 1,800-billion-dollar value for the market of trade air transport in the region.
"The rapid recovery of Chinese domestic traffic during the pandemic speaks to the market's underlying strength and resilience," Richard Wynne, Managing Director, China Marketing, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, stated. "In addition, there are promising opportunities to significantly expand international long-haul routes and air freight capacity".
China's economic fundamentals and the middle-income demographic class, which is expected to double over the next two decades, lay the foundation for healthy air traffic increases, as stated by Boeing in its outlook, also forecasting that Chinese domestic traffic will surpass air travel in North America by 2040.
