Direct flight from Milan to Tianjin, thanks to Neos 300 entrepreneurs got back to China

September 17, 2021

Abstract : Today, 300 Italian and Chinese entrepreneurs landed at Tianjin Binhai International Airport thanks to a direct charter flight from Milan Malpensa organized by the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) and the Embassy of Italy to the PRC.

MILAN, Sept. 17 (Class Editori) -- Today, 300 Italian and Chinese entrepreneurs landed at Tianjin Binhai International Airport thanks to a direct charter flight from Milan Malpensa organized by the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) and the Embassy of Italy to the PRC.

Italy is still one of the biggest EU countries that did not resume regular direct flights to the PRC after the halt caused by the pandemic and that prefers to rely on sporadic initiatives, thus penalizing economic and commercial trade in a time characterized by a major recovery of both economies.

"In an historical phase with temporarily compromised flights between China and Italy, it is paramount to ensure that Italian companies can efficiently work and enhance their presence in the Chinese market," the Chamber of Commerce's representatives explained.

Today's flight, the second charter one of 2021 organized by the CICC and the Embassy of Italy to the PRC, took 300 Italian and Chinese managers and entrepreneurs with their relatives back to China.

In 2020, the Embassy and the CICC organized three charter flights that brought nearly 1,000 entrepreneurs and their family members back to China. This effort then continued in 2021, with a first flight landed in July at Nanjing Lukou International Airport, which was later closed due to COVID-19, and a second one landed today at Tianjin Airport.

On their arrival, entrepreneurs and managers have been welcomed by the Consul of the Embassy of Italy to the PRC, Luca Fraticelli.

Passengers who returned with this Neos flight will now undergo a period of centralized quarantine at predetermined hotel facilities, as required by Chinese authorities.

Neos, a private company founded 20 years ago and chaired by Lupo Rattazzi, is 100% controlled by Alpitour, the largest Italian tour operator.

Current fleet consists of five Boeing 737-800s, four Boeing 737-8s and six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, with 186 seats in one class and 359 seats in two classes respectively.

The entire 737-800 fleet is equipped with winglets that reduce turbulence created by the air and improve aerodynamic efficiency, with a consequent reduction in fuel consumption and an increase in flight range.
