CHANGCHUN, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Northeast China's Jilin Province saw its foreign trade grow 27.7 percent year on year to reach 118.8 billion yuan (about 18.46 billion U.S. dollars) in the first three quarters of 2021, local customs authorities said.
The growth rate was five percentage points higher than the national average in the Jan.-Sept. period, according to Changchun Customs in the provincial capital of Changchun.
The province has registered foreign trade growth for 10 consecutive months, Changchun Customs said.
Jilin's commodity export soared 20.6 percent year on year to 25.36 billion yuan in the first three quarters, while the imports climbed 29.7 percent to 93.41 billion yuan in the same period.
Bordering Russia and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Jilin has, in recent years, been developing sectors like cross-border e-commerce, agricultural products processing, medicine and healthcare to better integrate into and promote regional development. Enditem
