BEIJING, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, has published a new book as a latest move to mark the city's cultural market development achievements in recent years, and to provide the practical cultural consumption guide for the public.
The book, compiled by the Publicity Department of the CPC Kunming Municipal Committee, features seven categories and 21 types of consumption, including theaters, concert halls,museums, art galleries, cafes and etc.
Known as the "Spring City", Kunming was also designated as one of the first batch of China's 24 national famous historical and cultural cities picked and promoted by the State Council, China's cabinet.
Nowadays, the city saw various new forms of cultural consumption spring up one after another.
At present, Kunming are speeding up the cultivation of night-time consumption, providing Chinese citizens and foreign tourists with more new choices at night and the weekend.
It is learned that in recent years, Kunming Theater has provided more than 2,000 high-quality theatrical performances for the public and introduced popular plays from many world-renowned troupes at home and abroad. Besides, about 28 courtyard and small theaters in the city have also staged more than 1,000 performances, entertaining 250,000 spectators.
Kunming will continue its efforts to further enhance urban cultural connotation, enrich high-quality cultural supply, and provide high-performance cultural services during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025).(Edited by Yang Yifan with Xinhua Silk Road, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
