BEIJING, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- China's postal industry reported robust growth in revenue and business volume in the first eight months of this year, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported on Monday.
The business revenue of the sector totaled 816.54 billion yuan in the January-August period, up 20.1 percent year on year, according to statistics released by the State Post Bureau.
Business volume rose 31.1 percent from the same period last year to about 862.49 billion yuan from January to August.
In the first eight months of the year, China's express delivery firms handled 67.32 billion parcels, up 40.1 percent year on year, with their business revenues up 23.4 percent year on year to 650.94 billion yuan.
