JINAN, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- China's leading powertrain producer Weichai Power registered a 37.42 percent year-on-year net profit growth in the first half of 2021, thanks to the robust performance of its powertrain business.
Its net profit reached 6.4 billion yuan (about 1 billion U.S. dollars) during the period, the company said in an interim results report filed with the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
Weichai Power recorded 126.4 billion yuan in revenue, up 33.75 percent year on year, according to the report.
The company said its powertrain sector, which includes engines, transmissions and axles, posted a record-breaking performance in the January-June period. It sold 671,000 engines and 802,000 gearboxes during the period, up 42.8 percent and 32.4 percent year on year, respectively.
