BEIJING, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Cargo throughput at China's ports posted stable growth in July as the country's foreign trade continued robust expansion, data from the Ministry of Transport showed.
Last month, China's ports handled 1.27 billion tonnes of cargo, up 11.3 percent year on year, according to the ministry.
The country's container throughput at ports in July climbed 12.4 percent from a year ago to 23.71 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), the ministry said.
From January to July, cargo throughput at China's ports totaled 8.91 billion tonnes, while container throughput reached 161.89 million TEUs, the data showed.
