BEIJING, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Dada Nexus Limited, a Nasdaq-listed on-demand delivery and retail platform in China, has boosted the retail sales promotion of supermarkets by providing them with "crowdsourced picking" services, reported Shanghai Securities News Monday.
Dada-Youjian, a crowdsourced sorting management digital solution of Dada Nexus, pioneered the "crowdsourced picking"model in the industry. Under this model, crowdsourcing pickers provide supermarket stores with picking services for omni-channel orders, product packaging, order delivery and other services.
During the "8.8 Shopping Festival" by Walmart on August 8, the "crowdsourced picking" model was applied in more than 170 Walmart stores in China, shortening the average picking time for each order to only three minutes during the peak period of the big sales promotion.
The "crowdsourced picking" can dynamically match crowdsourcing pickers based on characteristics like changes in Walmart store orders and peak time, and carry out targeted recruitment and training, attracting housewives, college students, supermarket promoters and other groups within three kilometers of the business districts.
During this year's "6.18" shopping festival, a major shopping festival in China, the number of crowdsourced picks in Walmart stores reached 9.3 million pieces, an increase of 34 percent month on month.
Currently, Dada-Youjian has been launched in Walmart, Vanguard, Yonghui Superstores, 7Fresh and other stores, and data from the platform shows that nearly 10,000 people have registered as crowdsourcing pickers.
