NANNING, July 13 (Xinhua) -- Western China has seen 2,705 trips via its land-sea freight route in the first half of the year, surging 112 percent year on year, according to the China Railway Nanning Group Co., Ltd.
A total of 269,000 TEUs have been handled on the route between January and June, up 319 percent compared with the same period last year, the company said.
The freight route is part of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, a trade and logistics passage jointly built by western Chinese provinces and Singapore.
The route has transported a greater variety of goods, now exceeding 500 different categories, said Huang Guanghui of Guangxi Yanhai Railway Company Limited, adding that the company will continue to work on reducing logistics costs and solving transport problems for enterprises. Enditem
