BEIJING, June 29 (Xinhua) -- China's battery giant Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL, 300750.SZ) announced on Monday evening that it signed a production pricing agreement with U.S. electric car maker Tesla on June 25, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported on Monday.
According to the announcement, the CATL will supply lithium-ion batteries to Tesla from January 2022 to December 2025 in order to further extend and deepen the friendly and cooperative relationship with Tesla.
The new deal is a continuation of the agreement inked between the two companies in February 2020, under which CATL agreed to supply lithium-ion batteries to Tesla from July 2020 to June 2022.
According to the CATL, the final impact of the signing of the agreement on the company's future operating performance shall be subject to the actual settlement of the purchase order issued by Tesla. (Edited by Yang Yifan with Xinhua Silk Road, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
