BEIJING, June 16 (Xinhua) -- China saw robust growth in daily online transactions during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, the number of online transactions during the holiday amounted to 5.37 billion and about 2.96 trillion yuan were involved.
Data showed that the average daily number of transactions increased 28 percent year on year during the holiday and the volume of transactions spiked 51 percent from the same period of last year.
It is reported that the consumption of catering, tourism and movie entertainment continued to recover on solid footing during the period.
Due to strong consumption demands, related companies in the retail industry saw their average daily number and volume of online transactions during the holiday rise 112 percent and 64 percent, respectively. (Edited by Yang Yifan with Xinhua Silk Road, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
