BEIJING, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality jointly launched 40 major projects on Thursday with total investment exceeding 100 billion yuan, aiming to build a scientific and technological innovation center with national influence in the region.
Among the projects, there are 20 projects in Chongqing, including Lenovo 5G, ultra-transient experimental equipment, and Chongqing Big Data Research Institute of Peking University.
The implementation of these scientific and technological innovation projects will provide strong support for accelerating the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, according to an official with Chongqing government.
In April 2020, the Chongqing Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and the Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Department signed an agreement to jointly build a science and technology innovation center with national influence, which is expected to accelerate the construction of Chongqing Science City, Chengdu Science City, Mianyang Science and Technology City and other innovative areas in the two regions.
