BEIJING, April 30 (Xinhua) -- China is likely to see 106 million railway passenger trips from April 29 to May 6 during the upcoming May Day holiday travel rush, the China State Railway Group Co. Ltd (CSRC) said on Thursday.
The estimated figure represents an increase of 0.8 percent from the same period of 2019, according to the CSRC.
Rail passenger flows are expected to peak on May 1, with over 17 million passenger trips.
As China's economy accelerates recovery and the epidemic prevention and control situation continues to improve, passengers' willingness to travel by train has increased significantly, especially by high-speed railway, an official with the CSRC said.
