Liu Zhenya, chairman of Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization and chairman of China Electricity Council, speaks at a sub-forum themed on "Accelerate Infrastructure Connection to Unleash Development Potentials" during Boao Forum for Asia annual conference in Boao, south China's Hainan Province, on April 21, 2021.
BEIJING, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Efforts should be made to accelerate the integrated development of three networks, including energy network, transportation network and information network, said Liu Zhenya, chairman of Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO) and chairman of China Electricity Council, at a sub-forum of the Boao Forum for Asia annual conference on Wednesday.
"The prospect for the integrated development is promising. The aim is to promote the upgrading of global infrastructure, reduce costs, improve efficiency, and reserve new momentum for world economic development via the sharing of facilities and joint construction of channels," said Liu.
Compared with the global information Internet and transportation Internet, the energy Internet relatively lags behind, and advancing the development of energy Internet is expected to embrace a bright future. The smart grid is the basis and clean energy is the foundation for the construction of the energy Internet, noted Liu. (Edited by Zhang Yuan with Xinhua Silk Road, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
