BEIJING, April 15 (Xinhua) -- The retail trade value of cross-border e-commerce in southwest China's Yunnan province reached 385 million yuan in the first quarter, 3.23 times that of the same period in 2020, according to data released by the provincial department of commerce on its official website on Thursday.

The retail imports and exports of the province's cross-border e-commerce in 2020 amounted to 1.353 billion yuan, 13.13 times of that in 2019.

The development of cross-border e-commerce in Yunnan has picked up pace since the provincial capital Kunming was designated a national-level comprehensive pilot zone for cross-border e-commerce in 2018.

In the next stage, Yunnan authorities will promote implementation of relevant policies, improve public services, nurture market entities dedicated to cross-border e-commerce, and carry out featured actions to further spur growth of cross-border e-commerce.
