BEIJING, March 6 (Xinhua) -- China's major beverage manufacturers saw their total profits rise by 0.5 percent year on year in 2020 despite COVID-19 disruptions, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
Beverage producers with an annual operating revenue of at least 20 million yuan (about 3.08 million U.S. dollars) raked in 42.88 billion yuan in profits last year, data from the ministry showed.
The combined operating revenue of the firms fell 8.6 percent year on year to 300.73 billion yuan in 2020.
MIIT data also showed the total beverage output of the firms stood at 163.47 million tonnes in the past year, down 7.7 percent over one year earlier. Enditem
