CHENGDU, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Sichuan Province targets an economic expansion of more than 7 percent for 2021, after recording a 3.8-percent gross domestic product (GDP) growth last year, Acting Governor Huang Qiang said on Saturday.
The province's GDP reached 4.86 trillion yuan (756 billion U.S. dollars) last year after a stable recovery from the COVID-19 epidemic, Huang said while delivering the government work report to the provincial legislature's annual session.
Over the past five years, the province has seen a 7-percent average annual GDP growth, with technologies contributing up to 60 percent, Huang said.
According to the government work report, the province also targets a 7 percent increase in fixed-asset investment and a 10 percent increase in total retail sales in 2021. Enditem
