LHASA, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Added value of seven major industries in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region exceeded 190 billion yuan during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), according to the regional development and reform commission.

Tibet has speeded up industrial development with such seven industries as plateau bioindustry, tourism and culture, green industry, clean energy, modern service, high-tech digital, and border trade logistics taking lead and generating benefits.

For instance, Tibet currently hosts more than 300 software and information technology service enterprises, and has the scale of its digital economy top 33 billion yuan, acting as an important pillar for driving high quality development.

Meanwhile, the total revenue of Tibet's tourism industry was over 210 billion yuan with the region receiving nearly 160 million visitors from 2016 to 2020.

234 cultural industry demonstration centers have been set up in Tibet, generating output value of more than 6 billion yuan annually.

For the next step, Tibet will put more efforts on uniqueness and quality by making use of its resource and location advantages, in order to increase the scale and benefits of the seven major industries, according to Gasong Meilang, vice director of the regional department of commerce.
